  • He took the helm on 7/21/97 after the team came in last place in the last half of the Southern division.
  • The team won the first 9 games in the second half and won the Division with a 26-10 record.

  • We won the overall Prairie League Championship against Regina Cyclones 3-0.

1996 - Manager of Thunder Bay Whiskey Jacks of the Independent Northern League


  • He signed 22 players under the Salary Cap.

1995 - Manager of the Regina Cyclones of the Prairie League


  • He signed on as Manager on April 15. Held local tryouts through May 17.
  • He signed 20 players under the Salary Cap.
  • He finished in second place in the Canadian Division. 40-30-571%.
  • We also won the Divisional Championship 2-1.
  • We won the Prairie league Championship 3-1.
  • After the first week, he was added to the playing roster.
  • He led the league in offense, .394 avg., 23 HR, and 80 RBI in 61 games.


1994 – Player-Manager of the Regina Cyclones of the North Central League


  • Signed as player-manager on May 5.
  • Scouted league tryouts May 13-May 27.
  • He drafted 8 players, 4 from each faze of the draft, one in Minneapolis and one in Tucson.
  • Signed 5 of the 8 players drafted.
  • He signed all 22 of the players under the salary cap.
  • Signed 5 players while the other 5 teams signed 3 players in total.
  • Won Divisional Championship with the best record in the league, 44-25, 638%.
  • He won the league's Triple Crown as a player -- .345-17-73- in 66 games.
  • Hit .440-14-60 after the All-Star break. 
  • He was awarded "Short-Season Minor League Player of the Year" by the Howe Sports Bureau.
